Music is a tricky thing. You can’t please everyone and as hard as you may try to adapt to and incorporate several styles and influences-it’s generally a difficult thing to do. Often, this leaves bands with one distinctive sound, notable signatures and styles and an easy to grab ‘we are influenced by X, Y and Z’ mentality.
Not Wild Adriatic. They are all over the map, stylistically diverse, and to be honest despite hearing that sense of familiarity with each of their songs, I couldn’t really tell you who they remind me of at most times. It is this fantastic integration of homage to their predecessors, yet original flair and diversity, which keep them interesting, and keep me listening.
At times their songs are fast paced and intense, at other times smooth and easy going, taking you through a range of emotions throughout their short 16 minute EP. However brief, “The Lion” seems like a positive glance into the future of Wild Adriatic.
