Lorde Is Youngest Artist To Reach US No. 1 In 26 Years

Ella Yelich-O’Connor, known better by her stage name Lorde, is officially the youngest artist to reach US No. 1 in 26 years. The artist is only 16 years old, known for her hit single “Royals.” The single has, so far, reached 1.9 million copies sold in the United States alone.

The youngest person to ever hold the US No. 1 place remains Stevie Wonder. The artist had been 13 years old when, in 1963, Wonder hit No. 1 with “Fingertips Pt 2.”

Lorde releases her debut, full LP Pure Heroine on October 28. Fans can purchase a CD here and buy concert tickets here.
