Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison has created a new project called Scar The Martyr with Chris Venna (ex-Nine Inch Nails), Jed Simon (ex-Strapping Young Lad), and Kris Norris (ex-Darkest Hour). The band’s currently untitled debut album is produced by Rhys Fulber. The album is set to come out this fall via Roadrunner Records. Check out more details about the new album after the jump.
Written by Jordison and with the help of Derek on lead vocals, Venna on keyboards, and both Simon and Norris on guitars, the album proves to be a collaborative project featuring the fusion of diverse sounds and talents. The band combined post-punk and industrial music together to create an immersive modern attack filled with synthesizers and heavy guitars.
“With this project, I focused my efforts on writing for the better of the song,” says Jordison. “I wasn’t worried about flash or persona. It’s all about writing a good solid song. I’m writing music that people can grasp and hold on to–something that resonates. If you don’t have that, then you have nothing.”
