Infectious Magazine chats with The Filthy Souls! Check it out after the jump, and purchase a CD or buy concert tickets here.
Infectious Magazine: Thanks so much for taking the time to speak with me. How are you?
The Filthy Souls: I’m doing very well, thanks.
IM: Although you met in England, you formed as a band here in the US, in LA. If you had formed the band in England, at that time period, what do you think would have been some of the major changes the band would have experienced as a result of timing, location, etc.?
The Filthy Souls: I played for years in the English music circuit and I loved it. I can’t wait to go back. One thing is I think if we had stayed, we wouldn’t have had the same opportunities happen, for example, the studios we work in now are brilliant; they are massive.
IM: Relocating to LA, for many bands both in the US and abroad is a dream come true. Can you take us through your journey of relocating, and offer tips & advice to bands considering the same?
The Filthy Souls: It might seem like a dream come true but make sure you’re ready to work hard like I said in the last question. You get some great opportunities but it doesn’t come knocking on your door. You have to keep your head down and do what music is in your heart, not what someone thinks they want you to be.
IM: In today’s world of social media and Internet frenzy, what do you think are some of the biggest mistakes bands make with their social media?
The Filthy Souls: I don’t know if it would be considered a mistake but I see people spending way too much time concentrating on making silly videos of themselves just to get likes/new fans. I think people will get very bored with that eventually.
IM: You’ve mentioned a summer tour is in the works. Can you tell us a little more about that and what fans can expect?
The Filthy Souls: We’re not quite at stage show level yet but there might be a few freebies handed out. We’ll definitely have a brand new set of songs we’re going to be playing so just get ready to have a good time.
IM: Along those same lines, when can fans expect new music?
The Filthy Souls: The next single should be out in a month or so. We’re just working on the video now.
IM: What’s in the future for The Filthy Souls?
The Filthy Souls: Touring and seeing more of the world hopefully soon. For now, we’re just getting on with new music. We’ve already started working on the next record.
IM: Is there anything else you’d like to add?
The Filthy Souls: Yes, check out our social media pages. Haha.
