GUEST BLOG: FeedbackLoop

FEEDBACKLOOP-LOGO - Main One

FeedbackLoop was created with the current state of the music industry closely in mind. We looked at the way recording labels handle their artists – how they change them, how they structure their payouts, the delineation of the rights (ownership) to the songs, and how this affects artists in the long run – and then we did the opposite.

The recording industry today is not so much about fostering new talent, but finding more creative ways to rip off hard working musicians and then leave them out to dry when their second album doesn’t do too hot. The mission of FeedbackLoop is to “empower creativity” by providing them with transparent dollars free of recoupment requirements – meaning we give our Artists the funds to create their project, they never have to pay us back, and they get to keep 100% of their rights. We would like to cultivate a mutually beneficial relationship between our artists and subscribers by sifting through the endless amount of content available online, and finding new and unique talent that we feel warrants a supportive community. In addition to getting incredible content exclusive to FeedbackLoop, our users have access to in-depth journal entries, videos and photos provided by each artist showing how and why they make their music. Music and art is about expressing original ideas and connecting with others based on a mutual appreciation – not making a quick dime.

We hope this inclusive model of involving listeners and bridging the gap between an artist and their fan base will encourage all music enthusiasts to support the creative community, as well as call attention to the fact that the current recording industry model needs changing.
